there to where to eat and hang out. Good stuff whether you’re
planning a trip… or just want to do a little daydreaming.

Side note, I ate at their recommendation for eats on the North
Shore of Oahu… a little place called Macky’s Sweet Shrimp
Truck… sooooo good. It’s a must next time you’re there.

Stable Surf System^tm is our unique combination of concaves (bottom conture), rails (sides), nose shapes, tail shapes, rocker and other surfboard elements, all working together to make the most stable, versatile, and maneuverable surfboards available. So how did we come up with Stable Surf System or S3? Kind of by accident…

I was out one day surfing with my buddy Chet. Now Chet is fairly new to surfing, I mean, he can stand up and go down the line, but that’s about it. Anyways, he was surfing on a typical low cost, zero technology, standard template longboard surfboard, and he was struggling to catch ANY waves.

Well, it just so happened that I was out there testing a new longboard shape that we were considering adding to our lineup and after watching him struggle, I decided to let him have a go at the board I was riding. And this is where something remarkable happened.

He proceeded to catch not only the VERY NEXT WAVE he paddled for, but every wave there after as well. Now keep in mind he’s a new surfer, so needless to say I was amazed the board made that big of a difference.

So why did it make such a big difference?

Surfboards that are more stable and more maneuverable… the cornerstone to Degree33 Surfboards S3 technology

S3^tm technology consists of concaves, rails, nose and tail shapes all working together to make a superior surfboard. S3 surfboards are some of the most stable on the market.

This is especially important when you’re learning to surf because you don’t have the finer balance and technique skills down yet, and the board will help you by compensating for your weaknesses. A stable surfboard doesn’t have to mean it lacks maneuverability though.

New surfboard lineup (S3 and NexGen) – Yes it’s still coming. All the inventory has arrived at the warehouse and photos are being shot as we speak. Give us another week or so and everything should be updated.

Clothing – First round of clothing came in and was wrong so we had to push that back. We have a very limit selection of some stuff now, but we didn’t have enough inventory for a full role out, so we haven’t pushed it out yet. We will, but its in the pipeline with other priorities that will get handled first.

Our first clothing order was placed this morning and we will have t-shirts, hoodies, and zip hoodies available by Christmas… hopefully.

Here’s what I want you to do though.

If you have any recommendations as far as what we should carry clothing wise please comment. If you would like some of this stuff for Christmas, tell us what you might like and what size you are. So we can make sure it’s in.

We’re thinking $18 for a t-shirt and maybe $45 for a hoodie. What do you think?

1 of 2 major additions for this season is the introduction of our “Stable Surf System” or “S3″. This is a unique combination of board elements that make our surfboards float better, paddle faster, and turn easier. All while maintaining an unbeatable level of stability. The new S3 promises to not disappoint.

The 2nd major add is a new epoxy technology called NexGen. This has been in research for a while and is a combination of the strength you get from epoxy boards but the feel, responsiveness, and flex you get from traditional glass. NexGen is SO light too. All my shorter boards right now are in this epoxy and let me tell you… WOW great stuff. If our standard EPS just isn’t right for you give our new NexGen a look.

For boards we are adding 2 new longboards, 1 new mini longboard, 1 new funboard, and 1 new shortboard… I know finally some shortboards. Here’s what new about them.

One of the longboards is the best I have ever ridden. It’s has a nose concave that flows all the way back to a double concave at the back, it’s a little thicker than our previous models so it floats even better and the paddling is insane, SO EASY to paddle. The best part is it has beveled rails so the maneuverability of the board is unreal. So much fun. You have to have one in your quiver.

The other longboard is a noserider that has been getting top marks from those that have taken it for a cruise. This is one of the most stable boards I have ridden out on the front; the handling and ability to turn it while out on the nose is impeccable. If you like to noseride take a look at this addition.

As for the funboards, we added a 6’10″ and a 6’6″ round nose, round pin tail, that are fun and quick surfboards in everything from double over ankle to head high.

Lastly the shortboards that we’ve added will be in our new NexGen epoxy. Super light, super strong and a flex and feel that will impress. these will come in a 6’0″, 6’2″, and 6’4. So be looking for all of these to be arriving mid December.

All our graphics for this coming season will be getting a face lift as well. The overall look we went for is a more natural organic look but we still will have a couple of bold and in your face graphics too.

All-in-all we are so stoked for everything new that is coming in for this next season. Stay tuned for more articles on boards that will be coming out as well as videos of them. Cheers.

As for “Stranger Than Fiction”, a Taylor Steele and Poor Specimen movie, it’s a very typical surf movie with great surfing, by top pros in exotic locals. That is, except for one small detail… it try’s to expose the lies within the surf film industry. So what’s the big secret? Faking the surfing. I know, hard to believe.

This film features great surfing from Taj Burrow, Andy Irons, Mick Fanning, and many more. As for the soundtrack, it’s good but not great, but I guess that all depends on your musical tastes.

Overall this film is worth the purchase. If it lacks anything it only features shortboard surfing, so, if you’re a longboarder this probably isnt the next film you want to buy. But, if you like great surfing from the best surfers in the world you can miss. So are surf movies faked? I guess you’ll have to watch it to find out.
